International Recruitment of Staff Policy

The procedure that follows should be read in conjunction with the organisation’s recruitment policy and procedure.
Procedure
1. All prospective employees, whether or not from the UK, are required to provide evidence of their right to work in the UK. This requirement forms part of {{org_field_name}}’s standard recruitment procedure. {{org_field_name}} will inform applicants of the documentation that is required at interview stage.
2. Job offers will not be confirmed until the organisation has sight of documentation that proves the applicant’s right to work in the UK.
3. The organisation will require citizens from the following countries to register with the Home Office if they are successful in their applications for employment: the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
4. {{org_field_name}} organisation will seek to sponsor under the Points Based System successful applicants who are not:
(a) European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss nationals,
(b) British citizens, or
(c) Commonwealth citizens with the right of abode.
only if it can be shown that there are no suitable applicants within the EEA.
5. {{org_field_name}} will ensure that no overseas national whom it wishes to appoint commences employment until sponsorship has been agreed.
6. {{org_field_name}} reserves the right to withdraw a job offer where an application for sponsorship is refused.
