Policy Aim
This care organisation recognises that effective teamwork by its staff and in conjunction with related organisation and agencies plays an important role in providing high-quality services. It therefore places a high value on team building in its operations, supervision and training.
This policy is intended to set out the values, principles and procedures underpinning the orgnisation’s approach to team building.
Policy Statement
{{org_field_name}} recognises the importance of its staff working together in teams that provide consistent, high quality, competent and compassionate care.
We address the need for consistency, continuity and a free exchange of information between workers, especially:
- during the process of the assessment of a person’s needs and the decision on what is required as a response
- in the drawing up and subsequent reviews of a care plan
- in the transmission of information between agencies, with due attention to accuracy, relevance and confidentiality
- when an approach or formal referral is required to another health or social care agency in order to access further services
- where the major responsibility for a person who uses services’ care is transferred from one organisation to another
- in providing cross-organisation end-of-life care.
In promoting team building in the organisation, we will use the opportunities presented by:
- group meetings
- group supervision
- training sessions.
On this issue, the organisation adheres fully to the relevant sections of the following official documents:
- Health and Social Care Act 2008
- Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014
- Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009
- the Care Quality Commission’s Guidance for Providers on Meeting the Regulations
- the General Social Care Council’s Codes of Practice for Social Care Workers and Employers of Social Care Workers.
Training
All relevant staff will be given the opportunity to engage in team building activities and training needs that arise addressed.
