It ensures that individuals are informed of incidents that have affected their well-being, provided with an apology, and given an explanation of what happened and what actions will be taken to prevent recurrence.

6. Procedure for Managing a Notifiable Safety Incident

When a notifiable safety incident occurs, {{org_field_name}} follows a structured process to ensure transparency and compliance with the Duty of Candour.

Step 1: Immediate Notification

As soon as a notifiable safety incident is identified, the affected individual (or their representative) must be informed as soon as reasonably practicable. This discussion should be held in person by the Registered Manager or a senior member of staff and must be conducted with compassion and sensitivity.
